Why LighthouseME Exists

Maine's communities face unprecedented challenges. Immigration enforcement has exacerbated these challenges. LighthouseME is here to illuminate the way through transparent information on the issues immigrants face in our state, resources offering support, and policies that will help us all thrive. We help Mainers find trusted information, connect to resources, explore data, and understand the issues impacting immigrants in Maine.

LighthouseME is built and managed by the Maine Immigrants' Rights Coalition (MIRC) — in partnership with Presente! Maine, coalition members, partners, and local organizers across the state. Our information comes from the Immigrant Defense Hotline, verified community sightings, MIRC member and partner information, and publicly-accessible third-party datasets. We bring it all together here for your easy access in multiple languages.

Together, the Immigrant Defense Hotline, LighthouseME, and our advocacy campaigns form the core of our Maine Immigrant Defense Hub — coordinating statewide action to ensure all Mainers can thrive.
